Sean sent a video of his first monkey sighting for the kids and they love watching it over and over. I will spare everyone else, it's not like some hilarious you-tube video that has gone viral (sorry Sean). Anyway, if he manages to get a video of a monkey sneaking in his hotel room to steal food I will post that. Apparently the monkeys will wait for guests at the hotel to leave the doors on their balconies open and then they will dart in and go right to the kitchen area to steal food. One of them took bread out of the bag, left the bag there, and then went outside and sat in a tree eating the bread. Sometimes they also knock on the door hoping that someone will just open up not suspecting that it's a hungry monkey. They can even open the doors that have lever handles. A good things we don't have monkeys here in Kansas, they would have a field day in my pantry, much like the children. Anna has been asking for animal stories every single time she skypes with Sean so she was thrilled to hear about the monkeys. We also got to see a blurry camel walking on the beach there when Sean turned the camera that way.
He will be going back to this area for the actual mission towards the end of his deployment and I would be tempted to take the children and go join them there so we could see him at night at least but the cost to get there would be ridiculous, plus he will be home a couple weeks after that we think. It looks like a nice resort but monkeys aside, I think Disney will be more fun for the kids.
